"I regard the theatre as the greatest of all art forms, the most immediate way in which a human being can share with another the sense of what it is to be a human being"
Oscar Wilde
The Alchemist Fund for Drama was created in 2019 and has been a springboard for returning Drama back to heart of Watford Grammar School for Boys.
The fund was created thanks to a generous donation by an Old Fullerian for whom Drama during his time as a student at WBGS gave him a love of the stage, fostered a fondness for the great playwrights and helped him develop academically and personally.
To ensure that boys today, and future generations, are able to enjoy the same experiences The Alchemist Fund supports provision of high quality performance arts at Watford Grammar School for Boys.
The Alchemist Fund supports our Dramatist-in-Residence who runs
Drama Club at lunch times and after school.
